So what are executive functions and how do I know if they'll help my kids?

A child with strong executive functioning skills:

  • Is able to follow directions independently (without needing tons of help).
  • Has a good sense of time and is able to complete daily routines in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Is able to manage and organize their things.
  • Easily adapts to disruptions in their daily routines.
  • Is able to problem-solve and manage their emotions when unexpected things happen.
  • Gets homework turned in on time and keeps their work organized.
  • Gets their chores done without constant reminders and hand-holding.
  • Is able to stick with challenging tasks that require sustained effort like homework assignments.
  • Gets the “the gist” of what they’ve read when completely reading assignments.
  • Is able to figure out how to independently do academic work that requires lots of steps, like writing essays.
  • Pays attention to details and puts forth a good effort. For example, you ask them to clean their room, and they can do a decent job on their own in a reasonable amount of time.
  • They are continuously becoming more confident and independent as they get older, and they realize that any mistakes they might make are just part of learning, and they overall have a good self-image.
  • They have effective strategies for managing frustration during tasks that require any sort of effort.
  • They are able to manage distractions and control impulses (e.g., interrupting, wanting to get up frequently while doing homework, having a “social filter”).
  • Is motivated without needing external rewards because they are starting to learn that learning new skills is going to impact their future.

Executive functions enable us to problem-solve and make adaptations to our own behavior based on feedback from the environment through self-reflection and evaluation.

They allow us to think ahead and make strategic plans using predictions, so we can tell up front what behaviors are going to help us be successful with whatever we’re trying to do.

In other words, they are the key to becoming productive, healthy adults!

That's why I've created a program to help you support your child in building the executive functioning skills they need to become disciplined, self-sufficient, and independent.

Here's what we'll cover in the "Executive Functioning for Success training program for parents:

  • The 8 types of executive functioning skills, and why they are the key to helping your kids become successful, productive adults.
  • The types of professionals that can treat executive functioning issues, and how you can navigate all the different types of therapies out there.
  • How to help your child self-regulate and focus, so they can manage distractions and impulsive behaviors.
  • How to help your child become independent with real-life skills (making meals, managing a schedule).
  • How to help your child improve time-management and critical thinking skills, so they can get homework turned in on time and function independently throughout the day.
  • How to help your child build the language and social skills needed to form relationships and advocate for themselves.
  • How to help your child become more resilient and adaptable when working through challenges or unexpected setbacks.

Here's a tour of what you'll get when you enroll, and how the program works:

When you join the program, you get 12 weeks of online training modules to guide you through specific information and strategies to support your kids.

In our interactive online dashboard, you'll be able to ask questions and get support implementing the strategies in the program.

Since this program is 100% online, you'll have lifetime access to all the trainings and the dashboard.

This program is in "beta" which means it's brand new with cutting edge information. Since we've just opened the doors we're opening it up to new members at a special early bird rate.

Normally program packages will range from $497 to $997, but you can still get access to the entire program for just $249 for a limited time.
